CONCEPT
Fold For Peace is the brand created for this origami set product that  would start a crowdfund campaign with the same name. It highlights Sadako Sasaki, a Hiroshima, atomic bomb victim that made famous through her Senbazuru (千羽鶴, Thousand Origami Crane) story related to the theme of Peace and hope amid hardships.
APPROACH
The campaign’s goal was to create a product that is both fun and educational for the customer while also campaigning for education to help fund at-risk children.
The campaign is inspired by the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, which went viral and donated millions to fund research for the ALS cure. To create a campaign that could be inspiring, effective and viral, I created Fold For Peace.
Through the thousand cranes narrative, the idea was creating a campaign that teaches the customer the art of origami, specifically paper cranes. Meanwhile, the campaign’s profits would go to a foundation that will help fund children’s education.
The project contains 10 sheets of origami paper and an instructional card, inside a foldable packaging. Out of the 10 sheets of origami paper, the last paper is specially designed to the aesthetics of the packaging. A repeating patterned wing with a yellow over all for the paper crane.
